Stephanie Isaacson, President & CEO

 

Stephanie Isaacson is the President and CEO of the 100% woman-owned New Horizons Enterprises, LLC, and has more than ten years of experience in the environmental contracting and consulting fields. Stephanie formed New Horizons Enterprises, LLC in October of 2007 in order to fill a void in the environmental remediation marketplace. She strongly believed that comprehensive and innovative environmental solutions did not have to be exorbitantly expensive and designed the company to be efficient, thorough and cost-effective.

Prior to owning her own business, Stephanie was the director of operations for Family Environmental Compliance Services, Inc. Stephanie’s primary responsibilities included the management of contracts, employee relations, and financial records for the Kansas City office. During this period, Stephanie managed the contracts and projects for the City of Kansas City, Missouri including the KC Live Redevelopment and Sprint Arena.

Stephanie was also employed by Tetra Tech EM Inc.  While at Tetra Tech, Stephanie worked on the watershed pollution prevention, environmental assessments and industrial hygiene projects. 

 

Stephanie completed more than 150 environmental site assessments for a large, international telecommunication company. In addition, Stephanie conducted more than 100 assessments on commercial, industrial, residential and public facilities across the United States. Clients included financial institutions, developers, law firms and governmental agencies. Her responsibilities included project management, collection and review of historical records data for the property and vicinity, analysis of aerial photographs, evaluation of the site environmental settings, site reconnaissance, interviewing key personnel familiar with the site and local government agencies, title searches, and final report preparation.

For federal, state, and private sector clients, Stephanie has conducted numerous Phase II environmental site assessments. These assessments have been conducted primarily to investigate releases/leaks from underground storage tanks. Phase II assessments consist of collection of soil and/or groundwater samples using hollow-stem auger drilling operations or direct-push technology subsurface sampling equipment. Her responsibilities included project management, producing subcontracts, for drilling and analytical contractors, writing health and safety plans, evaluation of the site, writing sampling and analysis plans, soil and groundwater sampling, and final report preparation. 

Prior to moving to Kansas City, Stephanie gained a wide range of experience. She worked with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) at the National Soil Tilth Laboratory.  She was responsible for developing nutrient management plans and providing technical assistance to policy development initiatives. Stephanie has experience in policy and regulations relating to agriculture and the environmental issues throughout the United States.

Stephanie served on the board of directors of the Kansas City chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and she is an active member of Women Impacting Public Policy and KC Crew.

Stephanie holds a bachelor's degree and a master’s degree in environmental science, and has a master's degree in business administration. She also has a number of professional certifications and affiliations. She received the 2009 Women Impacting Public Policy "Member to Watch" award and was recognized as one of twenty-five "Women Who Mean Business" by the Kansas City Business Journal.  Under her leadership, New Horizons also received the 25 Under 25 Award from the Kansas City Small Business Monthly magazine and was named 2011 Small Business of the Year by the Greater Kansas City, Kansas Chamber of Commerce.

 

Bill Bush, Vice President

 

 

Bill is the vice president of New Horizons, LLC and has been involved in the environmental contracting and consulting sector since 1992. He helped form New Horizons, LLC in order to fill a void in the environmental remediation marketplace. He and Stephanie Isaacson, president of New Horizons, believed that comprehensive and innovative environmental solutions did not have to be exorbitantly expensive and together they designed a company to be efficient, thorough and cost-effective.

 

Prior to joining New Horizons, LLC, Bill was the project coordinator for AT Abatement Services, Inc. Bill ’s primary responsibilities included the management of projects greater than one million dollars.  His responsibilities included personnel screening, hiring, management and retention. Bill was also the liaison between general contractors and project managers. He established plans of action and prioritized work schedules to ensure timely completion and profitability.

 

While employed by AT Abatement Services, Inc., Bill was responsible for notable projects, including national Sprint switch stations, KCI demolition and renovation, the Stowers Institute for Cancer Research environmental remediation, the Kansas City Live Jones Store demolition and abatement, the Kansas City Southern Railroad National remediation contract and the Richard Boiling Federal Building abatement.

Bill’s previous employers include National Surface Cleaning and Environmental Protection Associates, respectively. While employed by National Surface Cleaning, Bill helped finish the management center at the Kansas City International Airport. Major projects for Environmental Protection Associates included work completed at the KU Medical Center, the Kansas City, Missouri Federal Courthouse, Shawnee Mission School District, Catholic Diocese and many other projects.
